BACKGROUND:
As a New York State Licensed Psychologist, I have been practicing, teaching and supervising in many areas of psychology for over 25 years. I earned my doctorate in Psychology from Boston University. I am extensively trained in Behavior Therapy (BT), Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition I am a Certified School Psychologist with 20 years experience in school districts working with children with ASD, emotional dysregulation, ADHD and learning disabilities.
In my therapy practice I focus on reducing your current distress and taking steps to identify and moderate your problems (whether simple or multi-layered) using effective, therapeutic methods. We will establish a relationship where you can discuss your concerns openly in a non-judgemental and compassionate environment. Together we will identify important issues, select realistic goals and build on your existing positive skills/gifts/life circumstances. I will provide education, feedback and an objective perspective to help you work towards a lasting therapeutic outcome.
